Brit's Wedding Weekend - The Wedding!

After a fun last day prepping for the big day, it was time for the real show! Brittany and Craig's wedding was beautiful and so much fun! The girls started our day pretty early at the church; I'm sure you know, it's a lot of work to get ready for a wedding :)

Dressed and ready! She looked so beautiful, and so did her mom!

That's basically all I have of the pre-wedding, and I have none of the wedding yet for obvious reasons, but I do have some from the reception. It was at the Garden Room in Fayetteville, and it turned out perfect!

Groom's cake
 Wedding cake!

I'm telling you -- he's a trooper.

 My mom and I!

The centerpieces turned out great!

Brit and Craig's first dance as a married couple

And then the real dancing began!

And Kody and Kasey got ahold of my camera

 Love him so much!

There were a lot of girls dancing at this wedding, but my Kody and Brit's brother, Cody, joined us for the fun!

And I even got to see another high school friend, Katie, and meet her boyfriend (fiance as of a few days ago!), Scott!

It was a fun night, but more importantly, the whole wedding experience, from the day Brit asked me to be her MOH to the time we sent the newlyweds off to their honeymoon was all a great experience! Thanks for making me a part of your special day, Brit!

(And thanks, Kody for being such a great date. We're on a wedding break until October!;)

Brit's Wedding Weekend - Part 1

The second weekend we were back from Paris, I was excited to serve as Brittany's MOH! It was such a fun weekend of festivities with Brittany, her cousin Haleigh, and an old, old friend of mine (we're talking Kindergarten to now), Kasey. We kicked off the festivities on Friday with mani/pedis!

And then headed to a fun (and yummy) bridal luncheon!

After a quick wedding rehearsal Friday evening, we moved on to the rehearsal dinner! It was beautiful and such a fun time with the wedding party and both families!

He's a trooper! ;)

 Speeches all around

Cheers to the bride! It was such a fun day, and we had even more fun in store for the next day!

Heather Lou got married!

On our first weekend back from Paris, I was so excited to be a small part of one of my college roommate/sorority sister's wedding! Heather and I lived together with five other girls my freshman year, and incidentally, she was also Kody's neighbor our sophomore year. The wedding was beautiful, the bride was gorgeous, the food was delicious, the dancing was plentiful, and the company was great -- what more could you ask for at a wedding?

So happy to see my sweet friend/sister, Meagan! :)

And I always have the best date :)

Heather looked so pretty! As usual, of course!

 Two of my favorites!

I even got to see Cami (another DG sister) for the first time in forever!

AND Ashley -- another college roommate and the one who brought Kody (also her neighbor) to the DG date party where I first met him! Thanks, Ash ;)

I love a good wedding -- especially one where I get to see so many of my sweet college friends! Congrats to Heather and Curt -- I'm so happy for you both!

A la Prochaine Fois, Paris!

Remember this post? I can not believe it was over a month and a half ago! Where did our time in Paris go? I know, I know...it was a month, who could complain? I actually got pretty homesick two weeks in...I think a lot of that had to do with taking Kody to the airport and wanting to go back with him, but after a few days, I knew there was still plenty to do. PLUS we were going back to London! The last week FLEW by, and before I knew it, it was our last day/night in Paris!

Here's what we did:

I had one of my favorite muffins for breakfast (blueberry with these sugar crystals baked on top -- y'all, they were seriously the best), and Mom, Carol, and I went to that awesome antique/garage-sale-like market. We found some pretty good treasures and had fun wandering around for quite a while.

For lunch, we had Pomme de Pain which is a french fast-food restaurant. Don't judge us; it's really pretty good and we wanted to save up for dinner. I did go ahead and eat my last "tarte" :)

For the rest of the day, we just wandered around the streets of Paris (mainly the Saint-Michel and Saint-Germain, for those of you who are familiar) looking for any cool shops/sights we had missed.

Then we headed for dinner on the Rue Mouffetard. I can't remember if I've blogged about this little street, but the majority of the food you've seen came from here. It's an awesome place, and was our go to for just about anything we needed because it was only about a five minute walk from our rooms.

There are tons of little cafes up and down the Mouffetard and all of them have outdoor seating kind of like this

There are also a lot of bars on this street -- it is in the Latin Quarter, after all (home to the Sorbonne and many university students). Check out the guy who caught me taking this picture and waved at me!

I took this picture on the first day we were in Paris, and by the time we left, we had tried a majority of these restaurants. In fact, our last meal came from the one on the front left of the picture.

So of course I took a picture of our last meal in Paris!

My mouth is actually watering as I upload these pics. I had tomatoes (I'm telling you again--they have the best) and mozzarella for my appetizer

Chicken in mushroom sauce for my entree (oh my gosh, look at that sauce!).

And chocolate mousse for dessert!

 Our view for dinner

After dinner, we went back toward Luxembourg (remember that place we lost Kody on the first day?) to make one more stop at one of the souvenir stops, and eventually we made our last trip back from Luxembourg towards our little home for the month. AT LEAST once a day, every day, this was our view on our walk back home.

The Pantheon

Luxembourg Gardens

And one look back at the Eiffel Tower from where we saw it on the first day

The next morning we headed out bright and early, and it was an extremely long traveling day. A 10.5 hour plane ride, followed by two more plane rides is not exactly fun, but look at the amazing shots I got on the way thanks to a window seat.

It was the trip of a lifetime, and I'm so thankful that it was possible. We met cool people, saw beautiful/interesting/weird/gross/amazing things, learned a lot, and had a great time (most of the time). Thanks to you all for following along on our incredible trip! I was so ready to be home by the end of our extremely long traveling day and ready to stay home for quite a while, but I'm thinking another vacation soon wouldn't be a bad idea three weeks back into a busy schedule :)

Until next time, Paris,
