Cute, huh? We finished our breakfast and moved on to continue our tour of London via bus. We wanted to make it out to Hyde park and Kensington Palace before we had to catch the Eurostar back to Paris. We ran into a very nice tour guide while waiting to board our bus, and he informed us that there would be a pride parade going through London this day and it was kind of like their Mardi Gras. Explains our earlier run in and the hundreds, literally hundreds, of extremely short shorts and belly shirts we saw throughout the day despite the 65 degree, rainy weather. Funny thing, Mom and I ran into an all day pride parade while leaving New York once. We must have some sort of magnet for them.
Anyway, we headed on to Diana's memorial fountain in Hyde Park. Honestly, it wasn't too impressive.
BUT we did get to see another site of a future Olympic event. This is where part of the Triathlon will take place.
We also saw Albert Memorial
Found a cool phone booth with Kate on it.
And found Kody's future Ferraris. Ha
Finally, we made it to Kensington.
We didn't have much time to look around since we had a train to catch. And we also couldn't get off the bus and go in Harrods, so a picture will have to do until we go back later this month.
Here is a very small portion of the aftermath of the Pride parade we saw on the way back. Looks like we missed a good time.
After some delicious lunch and desserts (see below)
This is a Knickerbocker Glory, y'all. No joke. It was pretty tasty.
We headed to catch our train, but not without a quick stop at King's Cross Platform 9 and 3/4 :)
Taking Vera to Hogwarts!
Seriously, I loved every second of London (minus literally frying my bangs with my Chi-but that's another story), and I'm so excited to go back later this month!
